After a four-year hiatus, LA’s Michl has returned with a new single. ‘Holidays’ is beautiful exploration of alt-pop, with his vocal floating above a dreamy, synth-led accompaniment. He drifts from the restrained verses into falsetto-driven choruses full of washy, thick chords. His songwriting skill is evident, but the production hits a new level. The synths are airy and light, the drums crisp and the guitars delicately float around the stereo field. His previous tracks have amassed a huge number of plays, and has led to Michl performing with the likes of Billie Eilish. Be on the lookout for more from this returning artist. -Dan Peeke
